d'Artagnan's landscape (reworked)
A strawberry souffle sky kisses distant hills
Like cinnamon sticks - trees static - no breeze of which to tell
The humidity of the day, lifted and free
Sunset in Gascony, a melting vista, a place to be
Restless children defy the fading light, tussling with a ball
Battling like musketeers, for the honour of the score
The sagging of the peach like sun, dips into the green
A covering of charcoal begins to fill our screen.
note on this piece: another glimpse at the Gascony sunset and the campsite observations
