I find my poetry is drifting more to song writing recently, and this is a good thing. I want to partner with someone to assist in my refinement of the lyrics and someone to challenge the genre for which they were originally written; perhaps moving them from good to great.
My core influences come from the likes of Bluey and the mighty Incognito, Swing Out Sister, Donald Fagen/Steeley Dan, Stevie Wonder. Other influences include Level 42 (early years), Go West (later years), Earth Wind and Fire, Pet Shop Boys and Amy Winehouse (for their wordsmith skills), Dennis Taylor (artist not snooker player), Paul Carrick, Michael McDonald, Brand New Heavies, Drizabone, Cool Million, Sting, George Benson, Simply Red, Hit st Soul...to many several others!
